About Tom Gehring, Attorney in Austin, Texas
In 2000, at the age of 30, he became one of the youngest board certified attorneys in Texas.
Tom Gehring graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 with a degree in psychology. He knew as far back as high school that he wanted to be an attorney. After receiving his bachelor’s, he immediately went to law school at Thurgood Marshall School of Law and graduated with honors in 1995. Tom also served two years on the school’s law review (with one year as an editor). Upon graduation, he went to work for a small Houston-area law firm with a general practice (family law, criminal law, contracts and personal injury). It was here that he started representing people who had been injured, and soon realized that personal injury was what he was most passionate about and wanted to focus on exclusively.
With this realization, Tom went to work for a large, Houston-based personal injury law firm, and was able to work on many cases in several different areas. He gained extensive trial experience and sat for his board certification exam after five years. In 2000, at the age of 30, he became one of the youngest board certified attorneys in Texas. Less than 5% of attorneys in Texas have accomplished this.
Now in his twenty-first year of practice, Tom Gehring continues helping people put their lives back together after they have suffered from a traumatic injury. He has recovered tens of millions of dollars for his clients through verdicts and settlements.
